About the role

  • The Forecasting team at Amgen plays a pivotal role as a strategic partner to Commercial leadership, offering data-backed insights crucial for driving commercial success
  • As a Senior Manager of Forecasting, you will contribute significantly to the Rare Disease business, executing and managing discussions with brand leads
  • Build and maintain robust forecasting models using advanced techniques (trend analysis, regression, scenario planning)
  • Incorporate internal and external data (sales trends, competitive landscape, market research) to refine forecasts
  • Conduct regular forecast reviews and adjust as needed based on market dynamics, sales performance and strategic changes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align forecasts with business strategies
  • Provide insights on performance drivers and potential risks and opportunities impacting the forecasts
  • Present forecasts and supporting insights to senior leadership and other stakeholders
  • Work closely with supply chain teams to ensure forecasts align with inventory and operational planning
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on forecast assumptions and methodologies
  • Leverage data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) to communicate insights effectively
  • Utilize forecasting software and statistical tools to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Continuously explore and implement new data sources and analytical techniques to enhance forecasting processes
  • Oversight of one contingent worker

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of forecasting, analytics or finance experience
  • Master’s degree and 4 years of forecasting, analytics or finance experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of forecasting, analytics or finance experience
  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of forecasting, analytics or finance experience
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of forecasting, analytics or finance experience
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility with and influence ED/VP level staff
  • Knowledge and experience working with industry internal and secondary data sources; experience doing analog and uptake curve analysis
  • Proficiency in advanced forecasting techniques, statistical modeling and data analysis
  • Highly skilled in working collaboratively in a team-based environment and gaining alignment across an organization
  • High level of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Partnership with business leaders to deliver high-quality predictions guiding strategic decision-making
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data trends, identify patterns and make data-driven decisions
  • Experience with Monte Carlo analysis and statistical trending
