About the role
- Manage relationships with advocacy groups and other external stakeholders
- Lead campaigns and communicate with advocates to build and maintain relationships that support the company's goals
- Collaborate with patient advocacy organizations to understand access challenges
- Drive partnerships with patient groups around shared goals
- Support the implementation of the advocacy relations strategy for Amgen’s obesity and related conditions portfolio
- Coordinate Amgen’s engagement strategies with stakeholders at congresses and key events
- Identify and understand the drivers behind the official positions, priorities, and networks of influence of key patient and professional associations
- Gather, synthesize, and communicate patient and advocacy insights to internal teams
Requirements
- Doctorate degree and 2 years of advocacy, policy, marketing, or medical experience
- Or Master’s degree and 4 years of advocacy, policy, marketing, or medical experience
- Or Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of advocacy, policy, marketing, or medical experience
- Or Associate’s degree and 10 years of advocacy, policy, marketing, or medical experience
- Or High school diploma / GED and 12 years of advocacy, policy, marketing, or medical experience
- 5+ years of experience with patient advocacy groups and/or professional (medical) associations.
- 3+ years of experience working for global pharmaceutical companies as a liaison with patient advocacy groups and/or professional associations.
- Sensitivity to diverse groups of people both internal and external with the ability to manage many different opinions and perspectives, including tolerance for ambiguity.
- Previous experience leading the development of professional medical society and patient advocacy strategies for pharmaceutical organizations.
