About the role

  • Conduct clinical evaluation, biopsychosocial assessment, client diagnosis, and interpretive summaries among other assessments and evaluations.
  • Prepare person-centered treatment plans (ISP’s), case management, consultation, education, referral as needed.
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to clinical staff while offering ongoing guidance and mentorship.
  • Conduct comprehensive peer reviews to support the Utilization Review process.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions including crisis counseling to individuals, groups and families as needed.
  • Facilitate individual psychotherapy sessions and group therapy.
  • Evaluate the individual and family systems as well as assess clients functioning within work, family, and routines of daily living and identify areas needing continued support, resources, and treatment in order to assist clients.
  • Maintain Electronic Health Records to reflect the course of treatment and provide required documentation.
  • Prepare pre-certification/authorization information to insurance utilization review team and subsequent concurrent review (continued stay) clinical reports per medical necessity criteria.
  • Provide emergency crisis services during work hours and after hours as assigned.
  • Attend staff meetings, supervisory conferences, training, and other activities, which ensure effective and efficient functioning of clinical operations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in a mental health-related field.
  • Full independent license (LPC, LMFT, LCSW) in the state of Virginia.
  • Must have active registration with the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
  • Must hold appropriate clinical licensure with board-approved supervisor status to provide clinical oversight and supervision in accordance with state regulatory standards.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a mental health treatment setting.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in a clinical environment.
  • Must have flexibility to work some weekends on call and assist when requested on after hours crisis calls.
  • Must be 21+ years of age and eligible for required background checks.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
  • Deep knowledge of evidence-based treatment models and behavioral health best practices.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and basic office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc.).
