About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- In this role, you’ll support clients from the first point of contact, providing therapy, linking families to resources, and helping bridge gaps in care.
- You’ll work with individuals on the waitlist, offer clinical coverage across programs, and partner with community stakeholders to strengthen connections.
- Deliver therapy and support to clients on the waitlist; in their homes, in the community, or via telehealth.
- Provide crisis intervention and clinical coverage when situations require it.
- Connect clients and families with vital community resources and services.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager and clinical supervisors to ensure smooth transitions and high-quality care.
- Strengthening relationships with referral sources, community partners, and other stakeholders.
- Lead or contribute to outreach, education, and marketing efforts that promote Amethyst’s programs.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field
- At least one year of post-graduate counseling experience
- Bilingual/Spanish fluency is a PLUS
- A flexible, adaptable mindset — you see change as an opportunity for growth
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment, especially in high-pressure situations
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- A confident communicator with outstanding written and verbal communication skills — able to connect effectively with clients, families, colleagues, and community partners
- Interpersonal skills that foster mutual trust, respect, and collaboration
- Self-motivation and initiative; you take ownership of your work and follow through
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a team environment
- Comfort providing services in the community (must have reliable transportation)
- Experience supporting youth and families from diverse backgrounds
