About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor existing workers’ compensation EDI transactions and work with internal departments and vendors to correct errors and resubmit transactions
- Investigate errors, determine root causes and resolutions, and communicate lessons learned
- Analyze periodic workers’ compensation EDI data evaluation reports to promote data quality
- Manage and resolve claim system inquiries or transfer them to appropriate staff
- Monitor the Claim Administration email inbox and respond or escalate as appropriate
- Monitor, reconcile, and maintain vendor information in the database
- Assist the tax department with filings
- Review, approve, or reject additions and changes to vendor data
- Develop requirements for claims system changes and enhancements
- Perform user acceptance testing for EDI-related system updates
- Train claims staff on workers’ compensation EDI transactions and business processes
- Manage the claim transfer process
- Serve as a subject matter expert supporting audits and state regulatory inquiries
- Participate in claims department projects as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years of workers’ compensation EDI or workers’ compensation claims adjuster experience
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within the department, across the organization, and with external customers
- Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers
- Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multitask and prioritize workload
