About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of new and renewal accounts, ensuring informed risk selection and pricing decisions in alignment with profitability goals and underwriting guidelines
- Cultivates relationships with agency partners to support successful negotiations, drive new business growth, and maintain portfolio quality
- Evaluate and apply underwriting judgement to price and negotiate large and complex accounts in alignment with Amerisure risk evaluation process and renewal framework
- Assess and select for new business opportunities to align with Amerisure’s profitability goals and risk appetite
- Provide service excellence to agency partners, adhering to established service standards to support agency relationships and business objectives
- Develop and maintain relationships with key agency contacts to enable successful negotiation and ensure successful account acquisition and retention
- Attain established underwriting performance metrics for both new and renewal accounts
- Maintain organized and thorough underwriting documentation in accordance with Amerisure’s standards and guidelines
- Utilize underwriting tools to effectively support risk assessment and decision-making
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
- 3 or more years underwriting experience in commercial middle market insurance with exposure to large and complex accounts
- CIC, CPCU, AU designations preferred
- Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within department, across the organization and with external customers
- Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
