About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver employee relations support across Ameriprise India
- Manage inbound HR Service Center queries requiring general employee relations guidance and ensure compliance with HR policies
- Provide consultation to employees, leaders, and HRBPs on attendance, behavior, performance, and policy violations
- Partner with the India ER COE on complex harassment and discrimination cases, ensuring consistent case management and escalation
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations cases routed through the HR Service Center
- Manage cases from intake to closure, including fact-finding, documentation, risk assessment, and resolution
- Advise managers and employees on workplace concerns, terminations, notice periods, final settlement, and rehire eligibility
- Guide leaders on disciplinary actions, performance improvement processes, and documentation standards
- Support leave of absence, alternate work arrangements, medical accommodations, and related scenarios
- Partner with HR operations to ensure seamless execution and compliance
- Maintain comprehensive case documentation, track metrics, identify trends and root causes, and provide insights for proactive risk mitigation
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5 years of relevant experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to recognize financial impacts and respond or escalate appropriately
- Ability to take initiative, remain a team player, act proactively, and think creatively
- Ability to work independently following established procedures
- Intermediate computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Preferred: experience and knowledge of employment/labor laws and POSH
