About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the end-to-end electronic trade workflow with brokers and internal teams to ensure trades are matched on key trade information.
  • Work with brokers, vendors and custodians to ensure timely settlement.
  • Lead to resolution any failed or unmatched transactions, working in partnership with front office trading desks where required.
  • Build relationships with Brokers, Custodians and key vendors such as Blackrock to ensure efficient processing of derivative trade activity and life cycle events.
  • Escalate issues as appropriate to management.
  • Ensure that the correct parties have been notified and actively work to see the issue through to resolution.
  • Identify trends of failed and mismatched trades to enhance processes and maximise efficiency.
  • Analyse and monitor department controls for effectiveness and recommend and implement process improvements as needed to reduce risk.
  • Work closely with wider Operational teams including Cash, Settlements, Trade Processing, Data Management and Accounting to provide effective post-execution trade support and downstream processing.
  • Provide SME/operational expertise for testing of systems, generating ad-hoc reports and assisting in miscellaneous projects, as needed, for enhancements or regulatory requirements.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Working knowledge of the securities markets.
  • Working knowledge of the Investment process including Compliance, Accounting, and Administration.
  • Detail orientated with an ability to recognise errors/issues and potential financial impacts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks whilst working to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to take initiative and remain a team player.
  • Ability to adapt to change and flexibility to rapidly acquire knowledge of new operational processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office – specifically Excel.
