About the role
- Performing the day-to-day operations of the data center, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Collaborate with data center staff, including technicians, engineers, and facilities personnel.
- Implement and maintain operational policies and procedures to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure the proper functioning of all data center systems, including servers, networking, cooling, power, PDU and other critical infrastructure.
- Monitor and manage capacity planning to ensure data center resources meet current and future demand.
- Collaborate with vendors for hardware and software installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, network equipment, and other hardware components.
- Perform routine hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Enforce physical and cybersecurity protocols to protect data center resources.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO, PCI-DSS, GDPR, etc.) and legal requirements.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising performance or security.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, including service providers and equipment manufacturers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4 – 6.6 years of Experience in managing datacenter operations and related Infrastructure
- Proven knowledge and skills on managing data center hardware installation/customization and troubleshooting related issues
- Expert knowledge on trouble shooting Datacenter related issues – Cabling, Power, Server and patch panels, Racks and Cable Mapping and network (LAN/WAN/Switches/Routers)
- Good understanding of HVAC technologies and systems, Knowledge on PDU configuration
- Excellent skills on ITSM practices (incident, Problem and change management).
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies
- Demonstrated reasoning and troubleshooting skills to resolve technical issues.
- Skilled in vendor management, and strategic partnerships to maximize infrastructure investments.
- Familiarity with Security best practices and compliance requirement
- Strong customer service orientation, with experience in customer relationship management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to executives and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to articulate complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, across all organizational levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of building rapport, credibility, and trust with stakeholders at all levels.
