About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive sales in an assigned channel, team, or account to meet revenue goals through business plans and sales strategies
  • Lead, direct, coach, develop, and retain sales teammates and teams
  • Manage teammate selection, hiring, objective setting, performance management, development planning, capacity planning, discipline, and terminations
  • Set and manage teammate and client satisfaction and retention goals
  • Help define and execute strategic and operating plans and maintain a proper risk control environment
  • Partner with operations support areas to meet SLA requirements and achieve strong customer satisfaction scores
  • Maintain and enhance client service levels with operations leaders
  • Monitor insurance market developments and identify regional, territorial, and account growth opportunities
  • Coordinate sales promotions and new product initiatives to achieve sales and profitability objectives
  • Develop strategic business plans and conduct planning sessions for assigned teams
  • Develop and implement sales strategies using technology, marketing, CRM, DSR, and related tools
  • Monitor sales results and communicate performance
  • Promote cross-selling across lines of business and use Advanced Sales to increase average premium size
  • Identify selling-skill and product-knowledge deficiencies
  • Develop target markets and blitz sessions and follow up on marketing efforts
  • Implement and drive lead-generation and referral programs
  • Manage toward P&L and margin goals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills for internal and external customers
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently, in teams, and in a self-directed fashion
  • PC experience in a Windows environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software products
  • Problem analysis and solution development skills
  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all organizational levels
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • Five years of related sales management experience in sales leadership, including business and strategic planning, sales management, budget management, people leadership, and operations management
  • Strong background leading large sales teams and/or accounts with a record of exceeding team sales quotas
  • Significant sales and sales leadership experience in the insurance industry
  • Significant insurance-industry experience with proficiency in various product lines and industry knowledge
  • Strong project management, organizational, and executive presentation skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships as a leader, team member, and organizational resource
  • Strong business acumen and general knowledge of service-profit chain methodologies
  • Must possess and maintain appropriate FINRA registrations, such as Series 6 and 26
  • Industry designations preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Crump preferred
