About the role
- Plan, design and produce events while managing all project delivery elements within time limits.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to identify their needs and to ensure satisfaction.
- Conduct market research, gather information and negotiate contracts to maximize budgets.
- Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality.
- Organize and manage all event details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material, etc.
- Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations.
- Specify staff requirements and coordinate their activities.
- Manage event budget and task list, ensuring event is completed within budget and on-time.
- Coordinate with communications to promote and publicize event when appropriate.
- Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day.
- Coordinate with Manager to Conduct pre- and post – event evaluations and report on outcomes.
- Research market, identify event opportunities and generate interest.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Event Management, related field preferred or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three (3) to four (4) years of experience with planning and managing corporate events.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to influence and sell event strategies.
- Create and maintain productive working partnerships.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Ability to travel to events and meetings.
- MS Office proficiency.
- Superior customer service experience.
- Exceptional project management skillsets.
- Ability to work across cross-functional teams and coordinating complex projects.
- Strong reporting and follow-up skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to innovate and problem-solve on the fly.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
