About the role
- Manage a team of Loan Processors and Loan Processor Assistants
- Maintain thorough knowledge of incoming pipeline and all files to ensure daily progress
- Train and update processing staff on operational policies, procedures, and investor guidelines
- Assist staff and Sales Managers in resolving complex processing situations involving investor guidelines and systems
- Monitor and improve processing workflows and enforce pipeline/file flow timelines
- Monitor, review, and coach team members on individual performance and professional communications
- Ensure regulatory compliance for all team members
- Communicate internal and external changes to the team and interact with operational areas and management
- Follow up on inactive loans and data integrity, and manage daily/weekly/monthly performance reports
- Responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training and development of the team
Requirements
- 7+ years of related experience in Mortgage Processing, Mortgage Operations Team Leader, Mortgage Processing Manager, or similar field
- High school diploma required
- Previous leadership experience required
- Proven track record managing and motivating in an active fast-paced pipeline
- Experience in nationwide lending within a centralized sales and operations consumer-direct/retail environment
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of residential mortgage industry in Correspondent or Retail Lending, including sales, operations, capital markets and/or other residential mortgage products and services
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices
- Intermediate to advanced experience in using mortgage-related LOS systems (e.g., Encompass) and telephone/CRM systems
- Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills
