About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and qualify prospective business targets
  • Leverage multiple channels to recruit new agencies within your assigned territory
  • Identify new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and diversification
  • Drive profitable growth by selling a broad, differentiated suite of solutions
  • Manage the existing book of business
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of each agent's business model and value proposition
  • Build customized business plans that capitalize on opportunities aligned with AFBIS growth strategies
  • Develop and implement account service plans highlighting deliverables, issues, and technical needs
  • Manage day-to-day agency customer service needs
  • Lead client onboarding efforts, agent training and education sessions (in person and virtual)
  • Assist in resolving problems and proactively providing value added services to accounts
  • Coach agents in preparing and executing growth strategies and market retention
  • Attend and present at agent farmer meetings
  • Work internally with other team members and departments
  • Act as an ambassador for AFBIS in the marketplace and with our clients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience in crop insurance sales, training, underwriting, or agency management
  • Experience identifying and cultivating new business opportunities (preferably in Agriculture/Crop Insurance)
  • Experience coaching and developing agents is a plus
  • Knowledge of agriculture and farm management
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and analytical skills, along with the ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Must possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record
