About the role
- Identify and qualify prospective business targets
- Leverage multiple channels to recruit new agencies within your assigned territory
- Identify new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and diversification
- Drive profitable growth by selling a broad, differentiated suite of solutions
- Manage the existing book of business
- Develop an in-depth understanding of each agent's business model and value proposition
- Build customized business plans that capitalize on opportunities aligned with AFBIS growth strategies
- Develop and implement account service plans highlighting deliverables, issues, and technical needs
- Manage day-to-day agency customer service needs
- Lead client onboarding efforts, agent training and education sessions (in person and virtual)
- Assist in resolving problems and proactively providing value added services to accounts
- Coach agents in preparing and executing growth strategies and market retention
- Attend and present at agent farmer meetings
- Work internally with other team members and departments
- Act as an ambassador for AFBIS in the marketplace and with our clients
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 5+ years’ experience in crop insurance sales, training, underwriting, or agency management
- Experience identifying and cultivating new business opportunities (preferably in Agriculture/Crop Insurance)
- Experience coaching and developing agents is a plus
- Knowledge of agriculture and farm management
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and analytical skills, along with the ability to work independently
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Must possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record
