Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive compliance programs aligned with federal and state laws, including but not limited to OSHA, DEA, labor laws, veterinary board requirements, and data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA where applicable).
Lead regular audits, risk assessments, and policy reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of compliance controls and identify areas for improvement.
Develop and deliver training programs to ensure employees understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Manage investigations of non-compliance or ethical concerns and oversee resolution in collaboration with leadership and legal counsel.
Maintain and analyze compliance documentation, records, and reports to support audits, inspections, and internal reviews.
Oversee licensing and certification renewals for veterinary professionals and hospital operations to ensure timely compliance.
Monitor regulatory and industry developments, evaluate their impact on company operations, and update policies and procedures accordingly.
Partner with HR, operations, finance, and IT leadership to implement and sustain compliance initiatives across departments.
Promote and reinforce ethical standards, transparency, and compliance awareness throughout the organization.
Prepare and present materials for internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory filings.
Provide guidance and support to compliance team members and other staff involved in compliance-related activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, legal support, auditing, or risk management required; healthcare or veterinary industry experience preferred.
In-depth knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulations such as OSHA, HIPAA, DEA, labor laws, and professional licensing boards.
Proven ability to develop and manage compliance programs and lead cross-functional initiatives.
Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and investigative skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and compliance management tools.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Ability to travel occasionally for training, audits, or compliance inspections.
