About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Track and analyze key performance indicators and security metrics for SOC effectiveness and improvement areas
Analyze escalated security events and alerts in Microsoft Sentinel to identify threats and assess impacts
Develop and implement Microsoft Sentinel runbooks, event response plans, and procedures for containment, eradication, and recovery
Serve as a subject matter expert on Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Office, and other security technologies
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to investigate incidents, gather evidence, and support legal and regulatory compliance
Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats and trends, identify risks and vulnerabilities, and recommend preventive measures
Work with IT and business partners to incorporate security into hardware and software evaluation, selection, installation, and configuration

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Minimum of 4 years of cybersecurity experience focused on incident response and security operations within a SOC environment
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel or other SIEM platforms
Ability to investigate and analyze complex security incidents, identify root causes, and recommend remediation actions
Ability to communicate technical details concisely for appropriate audiences
Approximately 5% travel may be required
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work with different functional groups and employee levels
Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
