About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Track and analyze key performance indicators and security metrics for SOC effectiveness and improvement areas
- Analyze escalated security events and alerts in Microsoft Sentinel to identify threats and assess impacts
- Develop and implement Microsoft Sentinel runbooks, event response plans, and procedures for containment, eradication, and recovery
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Office, and other security technologies
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to investigate incidents, gather evidence, and support legal and regulatory compliance
- Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats and trends, identify risks and vulnerabilities, and recommend preventive measures
- Work with IT and business partners to incorporate security into hardware and software evaluation, selection, installation, and configuration
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 4 years of cybersecurity experience focused on incident response and security operations within a SOC environment
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel or other SIEM platforms
- Ability to investigate and analyze complex security incidents, identify root causes, and recommend remediation actions
- Ability to communicate technical details concisely for appropriate audiences
- Approximately 5% travel may be required
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work with different functional groups and employee levels
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
