About the role
- Ensure the effective implementation of company EHS programs within the assigned regional distribution centers and transportation delivery operations
- Partner with regional leadership to proactively anticipate, identify, and mitigate risks within the supply chain to improve overall EHS performance
- Leverage lean and six sigma principles to lead kaizen process improvement events
- Support new facility or retrofit design reviews to ensure use of prevention through design and incorporation of EHS standards in all engineering and real estate projects in the region
- Identify opportunities to integrate safety into operational processes, standard operating procedures, and training
- Conduct facility audits/inspections to ensure alignment with ATD EHS Programs and applicable regulatory requirements
- Assist distribution centers with incident investigations and identifying effective corrective measures
- Analyze data to determine trends and appropriate actions to improve regional EHS performance
- Lead ongoing regional improvement initiatives to achieve yearly and long term EHS goals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or related discipline
- Minimum of 7 years industry experience in environment, health and safety leadership
- Distribution Center/Warehousing and DOT Transportation focus preferred
- Industry credentialing such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
- Functional knowledge of Federal regulations and consensus standards including OSHA, EPA, DOT, and NFPA
- Proficient with digital safety management systems, Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook email
