About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work independently or as part of a crew performing various tasks such as pulling, terminating and testing copper and fiber cable, installing cable tray and various other types of cable support hardware.
  • Demonstrates the proper procedures for installing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting and documenting cable plan system to team members.
  • Generates equipment list and bills of material for completing tasks.
  • Interfaces with customer as required on day-to-day basis and informs project manager of possible problems or changes to scope of work.
  • Uses hand tools, including various punch tools, test equipment, and various power tools such as hammer drills and saws.
  • Has working knowledge of networks such as ETHERNET, TOKEN-RING and FDDI.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 years structured cabling experience
  • BICSI Certifications are a plus but not required
  • High School plus advanced training
  • Security Clearance is a plus but not required
  • US Citizenship is required for access to buildings and installations
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, including various punch tools and test equipment
  • Capable of reading blueprints and cut-sheets as well as generating test reports and as-builts
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work overhead reach for extended periods of time, work on hands and knees
  • Ability to communicate well in English both verbally and written.
