About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide onsite and on call system administration and operational support for mission systems at Peterson SFB.
- Troubleshoot and correct system, network, and software issues impacting operations.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, including applying patches, updates, and configuration changes.
- Provide user support and training; resolve access and operation issues and capture recurring trends.
- Collect, update, and maintain operational logs, incident reports, deficiency reports, and checklists.
- Perform incident response, including triage, escalation, resolution, and documentation.
- Perform backup and restore operations to protect mission data and ensure continuity.
- Support system administration and database functions as needed.
- Ensure procedural compliance and proper recordkeeping for audits and inspections.
- Support performance optimization, data integrity, and management status reporting; for Lead roles, direct day-to-day execution and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7–10 years of relevant experience in systems or network administration, systems support, or similar technical roles in secure, mission critical (DoD or similar) environments.
- Strong leadership capabilities in directing project/task execution across domains such as maintenance, integration, and data management.
- Experience allocating resources, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve operational issues and provide precise, timely status updates to management and stakeholders.
- Experience managing schedules and aligning tasks with program objectives to support integrated operations across functional domains.
- Strong documentation skills for logs, incident reports, and technical records.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field, OR equivalent DoD/Military training in systems administration, network operations, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum: Active TS/SCI clearance required to start.
- Holds a DoD 8140 qualifying certification; one or more of the following (or equivalent) is required/preferred: – Cloud+ – GSEC – Security+ – SSCP
