About the role

  • Provide onsite and oncall system administration and operational support for mission systems at Peterson SFB.
  • Troubleshoot and correct system, network, and software issues impacting operations.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, including applying patches, updates, and configuration changes.
  • Provide user support and training; resolve access and operation issues and capture recurring trends.
  • Collect, update, and maintain operational logs, incident reports, deficiency reports, and checklists.
  • Perform incident response, including triage, escalation, resolution, and documentation.
  • Perform backup and restore operations to protect mission data and ensure continuity.
  • Support system administration and database functions as needed.
  • Ensure procedural compliance and proper recordkeeping for audits and inspections.
  • Support performance optimization, data integrity, and management status reporting; for Lead roles, direct day-to-day execution and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in systems or network administration, systems support, or similar technical roles in secure, mission-critical (DoD or similar) environments.
  • Strong leadership capabilities in directing project/task execution across domains such as maintenance, integration, and data management.
  • Experience allocating resources, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve operational issues and provide precise, timely status updates to management and stakeholders.
  • Experience managing schedules and aligning tasks with program objectives to support integrated operations across functional domains.
  • Strong documentation skills for logs, incident reports, and technical records.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field, OR equivalent DoD/Military training in systems administration, network operations, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum: Active TS/SCI clearance required to start.
  • Holds a DoD 8140 qualifying certification; one or more of the following (or equivalent) is required/preferred: – Cloud+ – GSEC – Security+ – SSCP
