About the role

  • Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the testing, analysis and evaluation of materials and processes
  • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
  • Analyzes technical data to determine applicability to design problems and prepares layouts, specifications, parts lists, estimates, and procedures
  • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes
  • Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
  • Performs mathematical calculations and preliminary analyses related to trajectory adequacy and model dimensional consistency
  • Uses personal computer for analyses and report development
  • Assembles electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data
  • Sets up and operates test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems and records results

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • 8+ years of related work experience
  • Secret security clearance required
  • Ability to perform research and engineering laboratory functions involving testing, analysis and evaluation of materials and processes
  • Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
  • Analyze technical data and perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas
  • Produce engineering documentation, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, schematics)
  • Experience assembling electrical and electronic systems and prototypes using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Experience setting up and operating test equipment and recording results
  • Proficiency using personal computers for analyses and documentation
