About the role
- Provide comprehensive technical documentation support services for a classified network.
- Research, analyze, develop, codify, and prepare technical documents to guarantee accuracy and currency for network operations and maintenance activities.
- Create and maintain a range of materials, including technical reports, training manuals, technical specifications, user manuals, implementation guides, hardware/software specifications, and process/data flow diagrams.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, thorough, and compliant with relevant standards and policies.
- Manage documentation repositories — cataloging, updating, and maintaining document currency, and ensuring compliance with DAF records management requirements.
- Conduct research, including interviews with process owners, technical personnel, and users, to gather and verify information for technical documents.
- Review technical documentation created by other writers, determine and implement necessary revisions, and ensure that all materials fulfill their intended purposes.
- Collaborate closely with Program Offices, technical staff, analysts, program managers, and customers during the document development process, including the preparation, presentation, and publication of application concepts.
- Develop and present clear, concise briefings, visuals, and dashboard displays to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in English, Communications, or a related technical field.
- Must hold a Top Secret/SCI with SAP eligibility.
- 10 years of Network Engineering Experience
- 4+ years of diverse commercial experience in technical writing, or equivalent formal training.
- Experience interviewing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and briefing stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex technical information for various audiences.
- Extensive familiarity with technical documentation tools, standards, and styles.
- Detail-oriented with superior organizational capabilities.
