About the role
- Conducts research, development, test, and integration of custom embedded systems and special communications capabilities
- Contributes to the development of rapid engineering solutions to emergent non-conventional threats, turning high-level requirements into engineering designs that integrate microelectronics with novel fabrication techniques
- Completes the design and development of electrical circuits, RF receivers, and electrically-small antenna designs with minimal oversight and guidance
- Performs analog/digital circuit design, embedded microcontroller design, and compact antenna design and integration
- Performs modeling of circuits, schematic capture, PCB layout, and circuit assembly / fabrication techniques
- Develop coding to enable electronic designs
- Presents technical status and decisions during design reviews
- Supports integration and testing of developed products to ensure reliable functionality
- Participates and leads developmental and verification testing, including extensive electromagnetic and environmental testing
- Work with Project Lead(s) to analyze and refine requirements, perform alternative solutions by research and investigation, and identify technical risks
- Develop prototypes (in concert with technicians, as necessary) to prove out prototype designs
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers regarding the integration of designs into customized mechanical packages
- Develop documentation of design solutions and adhere to established configuration management processes
Requirements
- Active Secret Clearance
- Interim Top Secret required to start
- Current active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret
- 5+ years of experience with the below information
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering with demonstrated design experience
- Demonstrates ability to clearly and effectively articulate, present, and promote varied ideas and issues
- Makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens effectively; clarifies information as needed
- Conveys written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure; set priorities and coordinate work to meet deadlines

- Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision; work independently, make decisions, plan operations, exercise initiative
