About the role

  • Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems
  • Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design
  • Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards
  • Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications
  • Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures
  • Designs interfaces and brings system elements together
  • Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures
  • Customer liaison and support for business development activities

Requirements

  • Aactive Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of related work experience
  • Entry level knowledge of various programming languages (Python, Java, LabVIEW)
  • Entry level knowledge of database architecture, data mining, computer networking and systems
  • Ability to analyze simulation and experimental data using Python, Java, Labview or similar analysis tools software
  • Ability to evaluate control system performance using simulation approaches
  • Ability to interact with NAVSEA Hydrodynamics and Ship Control Technical Warrants and Program Offices
  • Entry level knowledge of research and development practices as they relate to submarines, hydrodynamics, and maneuvering
  • Entry level knowledge of Submarine Fly-By-Wire (FBW) Ship Control System Program
