About the role

  • Provide technical support and documentation for ship feasibility, concept, preliminary and contract design, integration, stability analysis, hydrodynamic and seakeeping properties.
  • Evaluate systems and equipment, develop and analyze requirements, perform studies and documentation relating to hull form, stability, weights, structures, and design.
  • Develop system documentation and ship specifications for surface assets and boats, perform structural analysis and design using ISO and class society standards.
  • Conduct, witness, and document tests including stability tests, speed, power, maneuvering, and seakeeping trials.
  • Review efforts for verification and validation work for Structural related work efforts in the Naval Architect discipline.
  • Review design review comments submitted by junior engineers and advise decisionmakers on considerations for high impact and critical design review decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Ocean Engineering, Naval Architect
  • 3+ years of documented experience with designing structural and strength components for shipboard use
  • experience with marine structural codes
  • development and use of structural analysis calculations
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
