Evaluate systems and equipment, develop and analyze requirements, perform studies and documentation relating to hull form, stability, weights, structures, and design.
Develop system documentation and ship specifications for surface assets and boats, perform structural analysis and design using ISO and class society standards.
Conduct, witness, and document tests including stability tests, speed, power, maneuvering, and seakeeping trials.
Review efforts for verification and validation work for Structural related work efforts in the Naval Architect discipline.
Review design review comments submitted by junior engineers and advise decisionmakers on considerations for high impact and critical design review decisions.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Ocean Engineering, Naval Architect
3+ years of documented experience with designing structural and strength components for shipboard use
experience with marine structural codes
development and use of structural analysis calculations
Active Secret Clearance
U.S. Citizenship required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
