Provide technical support and documentation design, develop, and evaluate the operation of CUMMINS, MTU and / or CATAPILLER marine engines
Research and develop ship propulsion systems, to include, but not limited to: diesels, gas turbines, diesel-electric systems, propellers, rudders, thrusters, gears, shafts, bearings, seals, noise, vibration, and interfaces with dynamic positioning systems, and apply to applicable design and requirements.
Develop system documentation and ship specifications.
Design, develop and evaluate operation of marine vessels, shipboard propulsion machinery
Review and develop technical data packages
Provide oversight on development of machinery arrangements
Conduct and oversee trade studies.
Provide knowledge of ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineer or related field or High School Diploma and 6+ years of additional experience
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
7+ years of relevant experience
Experience on US Coast Guard or US Navy Ships
Experience with MTU diesel engines including machinery control systems
MTU 1B dongle certification
Minimum MTU CE3 certification (1B dongle) for ECS-UNI/ADEC-UNI, ECU-7, SAM, MCS5, and RCS5.
