About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Agile Release Train (ART)
  • Promote systems thinking, support planning commitments, and lead change
  • Facilitate ART work by escalating impediments, managing risk, and driving continuous improvement
  • Provide support, development, and leadership guidance to volunteers
  • Lead ART-level cadence, including ART Syncs, ART Backlog Refinement, System Demos, Inspect and Adapt Events, and PI Planning
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Management, Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, System Architect, business stakeholders, and customers
  • Report on ART metrics and Program Increment progress and impediments
  • Mentor and onboard Scrum Masters and team coaches
  • Partner with the Transformation Coach and Agile CoE to develop agile execution standards and conduct SAFe and other trainings
  • Build high-performing Scrum Masters and establish mission and purpose for Scrum Masters supporting teams
  • Manage a team, including hiring, training, coaching, evaluating, and managing performance
  • Manage resource allocations
  • Interpret and administer policies, processes, and procedures affecting sections and subordinate units
  • Travel up to 25% domestically, generally around PI Planning events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • SAFe SPC certification required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in RTE, Scrum Master, SAFe Coach, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Experience transitioning new agile teams in a SAFe environment required
  • 3 years of supervisory or management experience
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate progress, impediments, and actions across large stakeholder groups
  • Ability to use or create dashboards and metrics to communicate ART progress
  • Jira, Confluence, and Atlassian experience required
  • Ability to work on a team
  • Up to 25% domestic travel required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not provided
  • SAFe SM or RTE certifications preferred
  • Agile-Hive experience preferred
  • Prior experience in nonprofit, humanitarian, or mission-driven organizations preferred
  • Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods
  • Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable needs
