About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Utilize healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with the blood collection process
Collaborate with the team to transport and setup equipment at collection sites
Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors
Follow all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations
Take time to personally connect with donors and listen to their stories
Ensure that the blood collected meets goals, regulatory requirements, and can be safely transfused
Drive Red Cross vehicles and setup/tear down equipment at donation sites
Work a variable schedule which may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or equivalent is required
Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required
A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required
Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
Good manual dexterity
The ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
Adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes
Basic computer skills are required
Must be proficient with Microsoft office applications.
