About the role
- Provide comprehensive labor and employment counsel and support general litigation matters.
- Work with business managers to provide advice, counsel, and guidance on regulatory issues, legal risk, and risk mitigation.
- Provide proactive legal counsel to HR on a broad range of employment issues.
- Monitor, interpret, and advise on implementation of employment laws and regulations.
- Draft and deliver clear communications to support compliance.
- Manage employment disputes by selecting outside counsel and driving case strategy.
- Respond to subpoenas and document requests while ensuring protection of privilege and confidentiality.
- Participate on cross-functional teams to develop and implement programs.
- Conduct legal research to support sound recommendations and strategies.
- Maintain knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to the employment function.
- Handle general litigation matters as needed.
Requirements
- J.D. from accredited law school
- License to practice and in good standing in a U.S. state bar
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience
- Demonstrated commitment to cross-functional collaboration
- Excellent research, writing, analysis, and time management skills
- Nimble, curious, and a fast learner, with exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
