Recruiter – Talent Acquisition Specialist
American Public Education, Inc. (APEI)Temporary Talent Acquisition Specialist providing full-cycle recruitment support for faculty and staff roles nationwide. Working remotely with core business hours of 8-5 EST Monday-Friday.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop recruiting action plans that align with business strategies to support hiring timelines.
- Screen candidates for availability, interest level, salary expectations, relocation needs, technical skills, and core competencies and presents them to appropriate hiring teams.
- Facilitate thorough interviewing process that maximizes efficiencies, establishes accountabilities and enables predictability and retention.
- Facilitate candidate pre-employment testing/evaluations.
- Negotiate offers; close or pre/post close candidates.
- Ensure that all candidates have a highly positive experience during the recruitment and selection process.
- Initiate and facilitate the onboarding process of new employees.
- Lead or support special staffing projects and initiatives.
- Ensure that the hiring process complies with all policies and procedures and with employment laws and regulations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Three to five years full-cycle recruiting experience in a fast paced staffing agency or corporate setting, including identifying, screening, interviewing and closing candidates, higher education experience a plus.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience implementing targeted sourcing initiatives and broad understanding of search technologies, search agents, and experience with a variety of advertising methods.
- Knowledge of Human Resources and Recruitment best practices and disciplines
- Proficiency with MS Office platforms including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and HRIS platforms, UltiPro experience a plus.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Strong oral, written and persuasive communication skills.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with high attention to detail, organization and time management skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective strategic thinking, search skills, problem solving, and cross group collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment while multi-tasking.
- Clear and professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced and changing environment.
