About the role
- Responsible for accuracy, maintenance, and compliance for all payroll taxes
- Oversee third-party tax service provider
- Complete periodic, monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation of payroll transactions and tax payments
- Research and resolve reconciling items on payroll tax clearing and general payroll clearing accounts
- Communicate with local, state, and federal agencies
- Manage amendments to tax returns and resolve notices or discrepancies
- Provide regular updates to Payroll and HR leadership regarding tax law changes
- Support Stock Vestings with tax calculations and updates
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accurate tax withholdings
- Register with new jurisdictions as required
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a multiple state or nationwide payroll
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with payroll tax and accounting
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
- In-depth understanding of tax regulations, including multi-state and local taxes
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- FPC or CPP Certification
