About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Automating production, indexing, and validation processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Exploring the functionality and viability of automated solutions for content production
  • Reviewing and fine-tuning a rule-based, text-derived automated indexing system
  • Collaborating with management staff to analyze automated indexing data
  • Suggesting and/or making changes based on feedback to facilitate continued and increased accuracy
  • Engineering prompts, testing, and iterating across multiple LLMs
  • Participating in ongoing QA and improvement of automated solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in psychology (strongly preferred) or closely related social science or library science
  • 5+ years’ experience working with database production, taxonomy/ontology, or other controlled indexing data
  • Demonstrated experience with rule-based and/or generative AI-based technologies in indexing and process automation
  • Knowledge of PsycInfo indexing rules and the Thesaurus of Psychological Index Terms (strongly preferred)
  • Extensive experience in indexing in psychology or closely related social science or back-of-the-book indexing (psychology preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience with information retrieval systems and practices, including Boolean search strategies or using Boolean logical operators, regular expressions, or NLP approaches
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft 365 — User; Videoconferencing tools (Zoom/Microsoft Teams) — User; Semantic Analysis/Machine Learning Tools—Familiarity; XML editing—User; JSON—User; Generative AI prompt engineering—User; LLMs—User; Boolean search operators—User
