About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Achieve annual revenue targets for assigned APA publishing products, markets and channels
- Develop and implement Account Sales Strategy & Territory Development Strategy for both new and renewal accounts
- Identify new customer acquisition opportunities and expand existing accounts
- Maintain a sales pipeline for renewals and new deals
- Manage relationships with institutional clients and library consortia
- Engage decision-makers at academic, hospital, corporate, and government institutions
- Conduct needs assessments and consultative sales discussions
- Present solutions, proposals, and close sales deals
- Work closely with marketing, product management, and sales operations teams
- Drive growth through new client acquisition, gap analysis of existing customers, subscription renewals and retention
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required (MBA or MLIS preferred)
- 7+ years of sales experience in academic databases, e-journals or e-books, academic library markets
- 3+ years working with channel partners or third-party sales vendors
- Proven track record selling to institutional decision-makers
- Computer Skills Required: MS Office Suite, CRM Systems, e.g. Salesforce
