About the role
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly and year-end general ledger closures for APA
- Plans, assigns, reviews, and approves work of staff accountants
- Manages cash flow, cash transfers and the line of credit
- Interact with bank representatives, vendors, and service providers
- Maintains the chart of accounts in the accounting system
- Responsible for the accounting and reporting for LLCs
- Oversee external contracted accountants and ensures report accuracy
- Calculate and make timely estimated tax deposits
- Manage the 401k audit and 5500 filing
- Maintain the Finance Policies & Procedures Manual
Requirements
- Bachelor's in accounting or Bachelor's in Finance with accounting concentration
- CPA required
- 12+ years of accounting experience including general ledger management and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of nonprofit financial operations and compliance
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards
- Strong analytical skills and experience with lease accounting and depreciation schedules
- Proven experience supervising or mentoring a small accounting team
- Ability to train and guide staff on accounting policies and procedures
- Excellent Excel skills and ability to design and maintain accounting reports using Jet Reporting
- Must be proficient in accounting software (MS Dynamics/Salesforce)
