Manager

Manager, Urban Forestry

• Deliver best-in-class data tools, planning, and planting support to AF’s partners
• Maintain regular communication with grantee partners, city staff, state agencies, community-based organizations, and other regional partners
• Deliver on project scopes, timelines, budgets, and deliverables for assigned technical assistance projects
• Manage logistics, timelines, and documentation of all project activities
• Steward partner relationships across the region by tracking local needs to inform our technical assistance approach and offerings
• Proactively develop new relationships, project opportunities, and technical assistance offerings
• Contribute to workshops, trainings, webinars, and presentations to deliver resources to audiences
• Manage administrative tasks including scheduling, file organization, and internal coordination

Account Manager

• Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year revenue strategy aligned with organizational goals and growth targets
• Drive significant expansion of revenue across major donors and institutional funders
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals and institutional funders
• Advance multi-year, seven- and eight-figure principal gifts, partnerships, and funding opportunities
• Develop and execute a Capital Campaign strategy for the organization
• Partner with the CEO and CRO to establish clear revenue targets, pipeline development strategies, and forecasting discipline
• Build systems and processes to ensure consistent donor qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and engagement
• Analyze and manage fundraising campaigns to ensure they meet established targets and are executed effectively
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align philanthropic strategies with organizational priorities and initiatives
• Personally manage, solicit, and steward a portfolio of top-tier donors and prospects
• Partner closely with the executive team and Board of Directors on donor engagement and fundraising strategy
• Develop and execute tailored cultivation strategies that align donor interests with American Forests’ priorities
• Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO in advancing top-tier donor relationships, philanthropic growth
• Prepare the CEO for high-stakes donor interactions, including briefing materials, strategy, and follow-up
• Co-develop and execute solicitation strategies for principal gifts, including direct participation in donor meetings and asks
• Ensure strong coordination across executive leadership to present a cohesive and compelling case for support
• Oversee foundation fundraising strategy and engagement, including national, regional, place-based opportunities, and select corporate partners
• Grow and strengthen relationships with key philanthropic institutions and public funders
• Increase complex gifts, including multi-year commitments, restricted funding, and blended funding models, and increase multi-year flexible funding commitments
• Partner with Finance and Program teams to ensure proposals are fully scoped, costed, and aligned with organizational priorities
• Proactively identify, qualify, and cultivate new high-capacity donors
• Leverage personal and professional networks to open doors and expand the prospect pipeline
• Engage Board members and senior stakeholders in donor identification and relationship development
• Represent American Forests at high-level events, convenings, and donor forums

SVP, Strategic Partnerships – Philanthropy

• Program & Event Management (60%)
• Project manage delivery of a defined engagement portfolio in the first year: 3 virtual roundtables, 2-3 virtual workshops, 1 in-person convening.
• Support refinement of the engagement program through alignment with technical learning and capacity-building objectives.
• Coordinate with Urban Forestry staff to develop agendas, and support development of materials and learning content as needed.
• Own timelines, agenda development, run-of-show, and post-event follow-up.
• Coordinate speakers, facilitators, and internal contributors.
• Coordinate with Finance and Operations staff to ensure smooth event logistics, vendor coordination, and financial management.
• Coordinate with Marketing & Communications staff to amplify engagements externally and align with American Forests' marketing and storytelling objectives.
• Track participation, feedback, and outputs across engagements.
• Grantee Network Coordination (25%)
• Serve as primary coordinator for grantee cohort engagement.
• Manage bi-monthly grantee newsletter.
• Facilitate communication and participation across partners.
• Provide responsive, high-quality support to grantee partners and track engagement and maintain CRM records.
• Program Support (15%)
• Synthesize feedback to improve future programming and as requested, conduct research to inform strategic program development.
• Support marketing and communications initiatives, as requested.

Engagement Manager – Part-Time, 1-Year Term

• Support American Forests’ efforts to engage and support frontline-serving leaders advancing Tree Equity.
• Project managing and executing a national peer-to-peer learning network for Catalyst Fund grantee-partners.
• Coordinate and deliver a defined portfolio of engagements, including virtual roundtables, workshops, and an inaugural in-person convening.
• Success in this role means delivering high-quality, well-coordinated engagements that strengthen relationships, build partner capacity, and foster a connected grantee network.
• Serve as primary coordinator for grantee cohort engagement and facilitate communication across partners.
• Synthesize feedback to improve future programming and conduct research to inform strategic program development.
