About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate the origin and cause of homeowner property claims
- Contact insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation units, other adjusters, and public personnel
- Identify complex issues and seek assistance as needed
- Handle first-party and third-party claims across multiple policy types and endorsements
- Conduct on-site inspections, evaluate damages, and negotiate claims
- Respond to customer inquiries, make appropriate decisions, and close files
- Interpret policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages
- Provide claim process and status updates and answer or redirect questions
- Complete other assignments, duties, or projects as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be located within the Brainerd, Minnesota area
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service
- Demonstrated experience handling first-party and third-party, multi-line claims across operating territories or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience handling moderately complex claims or equivalent experience
- Solid knowledge of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverages or equivalent knowledge
- Solid knowledge of each phase of the claim handling process or equivalent knowledge
- Valid driver's license required
- Acceptable driving record required
- Must obtain state-specific property casualty claims licensing as required
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Ability to perform catastrophe duty up to 75% as applicable
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and similar structures
- Ability to work in customer homes, body shops, and other higher-hazard locations
- Ability to work in tight and confined spaces and various environmental conditions
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
- Construction background or familiarity and experience with Xactimate preferred
- Offer contingent on applicable background checks
- Offer contingent on signing a non-disclosure agreement
