About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build relationships and connections with current and prospective high-growth-potential commercial agencies within a geographic territory
  • Prospect and appoint agents according to the regional distribution-expansion strategy
  • Use market analytics to identify current and prospective customers with the highest growth potential
  • Appoint new customers based on book transfer or significant flow potential
  • Identify vulnerable competitors to leverage book roll and book-thinning opportunities
  • Build detailed business plans for assigned agents
  • Determine visitation and contact schedules for assigned agents
  • Conduct 30 in-person and 12 virtual agent visits per month
  • Report to the Director, Regional Sales
  • Work primarily from home and in the field in North Carolina and South Carolina

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience developing business across the territory
  • Deep knowledge of regional market dynamics, including independent agency landscapes, competitor positioning, customer demographics, and local economic trends
  • Ability to identify and prospect commercial lines growth opportunities
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships at all levels
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to navigate an organization and leverage relationships
  • Demonstrated resiliency
  • Strong knowledge of business process improvement methodologies and techniques
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
  • Commercial lines and farm/ranch insurance experience
  • Must work in North Carolina or South Carolina
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
  • Must complete applicable background checks
  • Must sign a non-disclosure agreement for proprietary information, trade secrets, and inventions
  • Sponsorship will not be considered unless specified in the posting
