About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- support the goal of maximizing the after-tax return of the group
- research complex issues arising from new business activity and legislative developments
- lead advanced tax systems improvements and process improvements
- participate in the professional trade tax committees and working groups
- prepare, coordinate, oversee and review the most complex aspects of the tax compliance and tax provision processes
- research, model, and draft arguments of complex issues for tax audits and appeals
- identify and lead process improvement department projects
- evaluate strengths of the position and recommend strategies
- assist management in analyzing and integrating data related to mergers and acquisitions
- provide training to tax staff and develop ongoing internal and external relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- CPA license preferred
- 5+ years of experience preferred
- Experience with GAAP and Statutory accounting
- Demonstrated experience analyzing complex concepts related to taxation, insurance accounting, or related field
- Experience working in the insurance industry preferred
- Understanding of accounting, accounting systems, budget, or tax concepts
- Demonstrated experience communicating complex financial information
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-focused solutions or support
- Demonstrated experience reflecting flexibility and problem-solving attributes
