About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • support the goal of maximizing the after-tax return of the group
  • research complex issues arising from new business activity and legislative developments
  • lead advanced tax systems improvements and process improvements
  • participate in the professional trade tax committees and working groups
  • prepare, coordinate, oversee and review the most complex aspects of the tax compliance and tax provision processes
  • research, model, and draft arguments of complex issues for tax audits and appeals
  • identify and lead process improvement department projects
  • evaluate strengths of the position and recommend strategies
  • assist management in analyzing and integrating data related to mergers and acquisitions
  • provide training to tax staff and develop ongoing internal and external relationships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • CPA license preferred
  • 5+ years of experience preferred
  • Experience with GAAP and Statutory accounting
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing complex concepts related to taxation, insurance accounting, or related field
  • Experience working in the insurance industry preferred
  • Understanding of accounting, accounting systems, budget, or tax concepts
  • Demonstrated experience communicating complex financial information
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-focused solutions or support
  • Demonstrated experience reflecting flexibility and problem-solving attributes
