About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Executes assumed reinsurance catastrophe risk management tasks and projects
- Will lead and design projects and solutions to solve assumed reinsurance catastrophe risk business problems
- Propose solutions to business questions and monitor progress of projects
- Report to the Head of Reinsurance Pricing & Analytics, AmFamRe
- Performs assumed reinsurance catastrophe modeling analyses using catastrophe modeling software
- Communicates key model fundamentals to peers and other functions
- Develops analytical tools, reports, and data to understand impacts of natural disasters to the business
- Partners with team members to provide catastrophe related insights and recommendations
- Supports live catastrophe event response with exposure summaries and loss estimates
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service
- Solid experience with catastrophe management software and catastrophe peril models
- Proficient knowledge and understanding of natural catastrophe risk and its application to the reinsurance space and catastrophe modeling
- Proficiency in programming languages suitable for database access, scripting, and statistical analysis
- Solid understanding of geospatial software tools and data
- Ability to work as part of a team and to communicate effectively
- Demonstrated experience using large amounts of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
- Demonstrated experience making independent decisions and in project management methodologies, practices, techniques.
- Solid knowledge with managing data to scale using data summarization, query and analysis software and tools
