About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Executes assumed reinsurance catastrophe risk management tasks and projects
Will lead and design projects and solutions to solve assumed reinsurance catastrophe risk business problems
Propose solutions to business questions and monitor progress of projects
Report to the Head of Reinsurance Pricing & Analytics, AmFamRe
Performs assumed reinsurance catastrophe modeling analyses using catastrophe modeling software
Communicates key model fundamentals to peers and other functions
Develops analytical tools, reports, and data to understand impacts of natural disasters to the business
Partners with team members to provide catastrophe related insights and recommendations
Supports live catastrophe event response with exposure summaries and loss estimates

Requirements

What you’ll need

Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service
Solid experience with catastrophe management software and catastrophe peril models
Proficient knowledge and understanding of natural catastrophe risk and its application to the reinsurance space and catastrophe modeling
Proficiency in programming languages suitable for database access, scripting, and statistical analysis
Solid understanding of geospatial software tools and data
Ability to work as part of a team and to communicate effectively
Demonstrated experience using large amounts of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
Demonstrated experience making independent decisions and in project management methodologies, practices, techniques.
Solid knowledge with managing data to scale using data summarization, query and analysis software and tools
