About the role
- Lead, coordinate, or perform complex analysis for actuarial activities related to insurance pricing, ratemaking, loss reserving, modeling, or reinsurance
- Build complex models and projections to enable consistent and sound pricing
- Build forecasts and models for incurred losses, LAE, CAT and investment risks, and reinsurance for the annual profit & growth plan
- Serve as subject matter expert and consultant to business partners throughout the organization
- Present findings and recommendations regarding development or effectiveness of strategies
- Contribute to indication development and own recurring processes
- Facilitate rate review process and contribute to pricing committee meetings to support pricing strategy
- Assist with development of pricing for new products and rating structures
- Represent pricing on data efforts including dataset development and consultation on data and analytical development
- Assist with development of classification ratemaking methodologies and models
- Monitor industry and competitor trends to determine potential impact to actuarial strategies and solutions
- Determine property and casualty loss and LAE reserve needs and put together annual statement exhibits related to loss and LAE expenses
- Perform annual determination of factor reserves
Requirements
- Leading, coordinating, or performs most complex analysis for actuarial activities related to insurance pricing, ratemaking, loss reserving, modeling, or reinsurance
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of property and casualty products, pricing, rates and industry trends
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of underwriting guidelines and concepts, pricing, ratemaking, loss reserving, modeling or reinsurance
- Demonstrated experience performing statistical/actuarial analysis and data forecasting and modeling techniques
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of forecasting and statistical analysis and modeling
- Associate or Fellow in Casualty Actuary Society (ACAS or FCAS)
- Willingness to work hybrid: minimum of 10 days per month from the office and reside within approximately 35-50 miles of Madison, WI or Boston, MA
- Travel up to 10%
- Offer contingent on background checks and signing a non-disclosure agreement
