About the role
- Manage an operations underwriting area
- Provide leadership and technical support through management of people and processes
- Manage the underwriting activities to provide products and services to customers
- Establish, implement, and monitor underwriting standards for risk selection to achieve divisional and department goals
- Maintain primary authority for underwriting decisions
- Collaborate with division or department leadership team
- Ensure compliance of underwriting operations with state and federal regulations and divisional policies and procedures
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
- Demonstrated effective management or leadership experience
- Demonstrated underwriting experience in area of expertise (specific products or line)
- Solid knowledge and understanding of insurance, underwriting guidelines and risk concepts in area of expertise
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills to review complex cases and/or review lines or books of business
