About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform environmental inspections under close supervision within the assigned region using AEP approved forms and methods within regulatory time frames.
Communicate deviations appropriately.
Collect data as needed to support environmental compliance reporting using AEP approved methods.
Prepare and submit reports as assigned.
Promote and enforce (see something, say something, do something) safe work practices to safeguard employees, contractors, the general public, and Company facilities.
Provide support during environmental compliance reviews.
Effectively communicate environmental compliance issues to appropriate internal parties.
Maintain all environmental documents and records in accordance with environmental content management standards.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Environmental Tech Assc(Grade 4) Experience: No experience required, but preferred.
Highly Preferred: Preference will be given to those with experience in Coal Combustion Residual Surface Impoundments and Landfills and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures.
Valid driver’s license
Environmental Tech (Grade 5) Basic Qualifications Experience: Minimum of three years of environmental experience with an associate’s degree. No experience required, but preferred, with a bachelor’s degree.
Must have at least an awareness level knowledge of the inspection requirements for programs listed in the job summary above.
Preference will be given to those with experience in Coal Combustion Residual Surface Impoundments and Landfills and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures.
Travel time is considered 90% within the assigned region and may include overnight stays on occasion.
Availability for weekend on call coverage to assist in managing environmental needs (on Rare occasions only).
