About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with assigned witnesses to draft direct and rebuttal testimonies for generation (coal, natural gas, hydro, new generation resources) and environmental cases.
  • Research prior filings to inform testimony development.
  • Assemble, evaluate, and integrate operations and maintenance and capital project costs, NERC Generating Availability Data System (GADS) data, and other data into testimony.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all information our witnesses provide to regulators.
  • Influence case strategy through effective direct and rebuttal testimonies and discovery preparation.
  • Lead the response process for discovery requests and commission audits.
  • Evaluate requests, assemble data-driven responses, and coordinate internal reviews.
  • Support the preparation of witness for public utility commission hearings.
  • Understand the requirements for compliance filings and ensure adherence to deadlines.
  • Lead minor filings and conduct research on various issues.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a passion for learning and growing within the electric utility regulation sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, research, and data analysis abilities.
  • Generation (Fossil, Hydro, Renewables, New Generation) Environmental regulations experience or knowledge preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Geoscience, Mathematics or similar quantitative degree AND 4 years relative field, operations or analytical experience OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Geoscience, Mathematics or similar quantitative degree AND 8 years relative field, operations or analytical experience OR High School diploma or GED AND 10 years relative field, operations or analytical experience.
