Perform infrastructure project assignments.
Plan, research, evaluate, and design infrastructure solutions.
Provide a high level of technical support and analysis, operation, administration, and troubleshooting activities.
Adhere to AEP’s approval processes as part of change management, incident management, and trouble response scenarios.
Prepare cost estimates, justifications, application requirements, alternative solutions, and technical recommendations.
Prepare technical documentation including procedures, manuals, and reports.
Review and adhere to budgeting and approval processes while assisting with annual and project planning.
May provide training and mentoring, as well as work direction, to others on the team.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.
5 years of relevant work experience for Infrastructure Engineer Sr (SG7).
7 years of relevant work experience for Infrastructure Engineer Prin (SG8).
10 years of relevant work experience for Infrastructure Engineer Staff (SG9).
Strong understanding of routing (OSPF, BGP) and switching.
Proficiency with major vendor equipment (Cisco, Arista, etc).
Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, PKI, and cybersecurity best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving complex issues.
