About the role
- Review new orders, comparing specifications to proposals, and resolve discrepancies with the sales team.
- Select appropriate components from manufacturer catalogs and generate purchase requisitions.
- Interface with customers to address design-related queries and obtain approvals.
- Check detail drawings prepared by junior designers for accuracy and completeness.
- Visit customer facilities to review projects, verify dimensions, and inspect equipment.
Requirements
- A 2-year technical school degree in Mechanical Design/Engineering is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 3–5 years of mechanical design experience in heavy equipment or related industries.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Strong knowledge of structural and mechanical design principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
