About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Leads the strategic direction, architecture, and operational management of the College's infrastructure services environment.
  • Develops and executes multi-year infrastructure roadmaps aligned with institutional priorities, cybersecurity requirements, and business objectives.
  • Ensures high availability, performance, security, and resiliency of enterprise infrastructure, including cloud platforms, networking, identity services, telephony, email, collaboration technologies, and endpoint management.
  • Oversees managed service providers and technology vendors, establishing service level expectations and holding partners accountable for performance outcomes.
  • Leads disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, and incident response planning activities to minimize operational risk and ensure organizational resilience.
  • Establishes infrastructure governance, operational standards, policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Drives infrastructure modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, automation, platform optimization, and technical debt reduction.
  • Monitors service performance, capacity, utilization, and costs.
  • Partners with information security leadership to support security controls, vulnerability management, identity governance, and regulatory compliance efforts, ensuring changes align with established security policies and standards.
  • Develops and manages infrastructure operating and capital budgets, ensuring responsible stewardship of technology investments.
  • Builds, mentors, and develops a high-performing infrastructure team focused on service excellence, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Collaborates with business and technology leaders to evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Provides executive-level reporting on infrastructure performance, key risks, service reliability, vendor performance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Supports audits, compliance reviews, and risk management activities as required.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive infrastructure, operations, or technology leadership experience, including management responsibility for enterprise-scale technology environments.
  • 5+ years of direct people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Demonstrated experience leading hybrid cloud and enterprise infrastructure environments, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, cloud networking, identity services, and endpoint technologies.
  • Experience managing service providers, outsourced technology partners, and complex vendor relationships.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, systems reliability, business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational best practices.
  • Experience developing technology roadmaps, managing technology budgets, and leading infrastructure transformation initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management practices, identity and access management, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to executive and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change and influence stakeholders across multiple business functions.
