About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • oversee daily operations of all aspects for selected JACC Specialty Journals
  • seek editorial and production efficiencies and synergies between publishing efforts of all JACC journals
  • collaborate with key member leaders of JACC journals, providing guidance and direction to meet editorial and business needs
  • manage staff and contractors involved in the submission and the peer review process for selected JACC Specialty Journals
  • ensure best practices are followed consistently across all journals
  • enable a stable and accessible platform for all users
  • oversee the planning of outreach events for selected JACC Specialty Journals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of experience in peer-reviewed STM publishing, including management experience.
  • Ability to effectively manage a team and contractors in a collaborative, deadline-oriented environment, as well as managing the expectations of editors in a respectful, professional manner.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, with varied deadlines in a fast-paced editorial/publishing environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, with working knowledge of word processing, scheduling, and spreadsheet programs.
  • Experience in the medical field; knowledge of the cardiovascular field highly desired.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting.
  • Certification or Master’s degree in Publishing.
  • Some travel may be requested/required.
