About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for reporting and analyzing accounting activity related to the 401(k), pension, and post-retirement benefit plans of ABS and its affiliated companies.
- Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements and coordinates requests for periodic and ad hoc financial analyses, as well as related reporting.
- Assist with benefit plan audits, the preparation of financial statements, and the filing of Form 5500s.
- Support the preparation of annual consolidated financial statements and related footnotes in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Assist in preparing quarterly financial statements by collecting, consolidating, and analyzing financial data.
- Prepare quarterly balance sheet variance analyses and explain significant fluctuations.
- Assist in coordinating the Company’s annual external audit.
- Prepare schedules and other supporting documentation required for the annual external audit.
- Support the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures across the accounting organization.
- Assist with cash flow reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, as needed.
- Provide support to management teams and department heads with monthly forecasting and reporting, as needed.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses upon request.
- Assist with lease accounting and the administration of related software.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Requires a minimum of 5 years of accounting and financial experience; 2 or more years of public accounting and relevant industry experience are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or Master’s degree (M.A.) in Accounting
- CPA Preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel capabilities.
- Experience with Oracle (R12) and Hyperion HFM/SmartView preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate reports, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and accountable, with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of work.
- Results-driven, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Ability to execute assignments effectively and follow through to completion.
- Well-developed analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, related instructions, and the ABS Employee Safety Policy.
