About the role
- Develop air construction and operating permit applications and work with Power Operations personnel to refine system designs and operating procedures that help ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide EC environmental compliance support by reviewing, interpreting, communicating and helping implement pertinent air regulations.
- Develop and prepare management and regulatory compliance reports as required including emissions reports, deviation reports and compliance certifications, toxic release inventory reports and other reports as assigned
- Provide support for EC ambient air monitoring system as needed including equipment testing, maintenance and repairs, quality assurance requirements, recordkeeping and reporting, and contractor oversight.
- Interface with state and federal regulators in the operations and assessment of environmental monitoring and reporting systems.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining the regulatory and system expertise necessary for planning, coordinating and providing programmatic management of Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEM) systems at multiple locations as assigned.
- Provide Energy Center (EC) support for environmental testing assigned facilities as needed including Relative Accuracy Test Audits (RATAs), stack tests, and other quality assurance requirements, equipment certification, testing, maintenance and repairs, reporting and contractor oversight.
- QA/QC CEM system data for assigned facilities and develop required local, state and federal reports of emissions data.
- Facilitate EC state and federal regulatory inspections by coordinating with regulatory and EC personnel.
- Conduct periodic EC environmental compliance reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in engineering, science or environmental science related field from an accredited college or university required
- Three or more years of experience and specific working knowledge of CEM systems preferred
- Five or more years of environmental regulatory experience in Missouri and/or Illinois preferred
- Experience in ambient measurement systems, power plant systems, air quality regulations, permitting or pollution control equipment also desired
- Must possess strong work ethic and be customer driven with excellent analytical, organization, human relations and communication skills
- Must be highly motivated and have ability to manage multiple and complex tasks and work effectively to meet established deadlines
- Proficiency in PC based spreadsheets, databases and word processing software a plus
