About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform a variety of electrical design functions
  • Development of facility models and construction drawings for electrical systems such as plans, one-line diagrams, control diagrams, interconnection diagrams, elevations and details, schedules and bills of materials
  • Drawings for instrumentation and controls systems such as: system architecture, ladder diagrams, input/output diagrams, and instrument data sheets
  • Complete design of lighting systems for buildings and outdoor areas
  • Lighting design includes fixture selection, model calculations which will determine lighting level for normal and emergency lighting situations
  • Assistance with cost estimating and equipment summary for bills of materials

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree in engineering from an accredited certified institution
  • 15 or more years of electrical engineering design experience
  • Construction support experience for Title 3 activities
  • Experience in providing construction support or services during construction is required
  • Citizen of United States
  • Short Circuit Analysis experience
  • Working knowledge of the NEC
  • DOE experience desired (preferred)
  • NQA-1 experience desired (preferred)
  • Lighting calculation experience (preferred)
  • Familiarity with 3 Dimensional applications with software such as Smartplant or Revit (preferred)
  • Knowledge of broad range of electrical systems is required, including power system design, substation design, fire alarm design, lighting design, load flow studies, communications design, grounding design and equipment selection
  • Ability to independently produce construction documentation using 2-D and 3-D applications (Smartplant or Revit) is required.
