Senior Electrical Designer
AmentumSenior Electrical Designer performing electrical design functions for Amentum's projects with a focus on electrical systems and lighting design. Supporting Oak Ridge, Tennessee office with remote work options.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform a variety of electrical design functions
- Development of facility models and construction drawings for electrical systems such as plans, one-line diagrams, control diagrams, interconnection diagrams, elevations and details, schedules and bills of materials
- Drawings for instrumentation and controls systems such as: system architecture, ladder diagrams, input/output diagrams, and instrument data sheets
- Complete design of lighting systems for buildings and outdoor areas
- Lighting design includes fixture selection, model calculations which will determine lighting level for normal and emergency lighting situations
- Assistance with cost estimating and equipment summary for bills of materials
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s degree in engineering from an accredited certified institution
- 15 or more years of electrical engineering design experience
- Construction support experience for Title 3 activities
- Experience in providing construction support or services during construction is required
- Citizen of United States
- Short Circuit Analysis experience
- Working knowledge of the NEC
- DOE experience desired (preferred)
- NQA-1 experience desired (preferred)
- Lighting calculation experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with 3 Dimensional applications with software such as Smartplant or Revit (preferred)
- Knowledge of broad range of electrical systems is required, including power system design, substation design, fire alarm design, lighting design, load flow studies, communications design, grounding design and equipment selection
- Ability to independently produce construction documentation using 2-D and 3-D applications (Smartplant or Revit) is required.
