About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for fire and emergency medical services.
Monitor and dispatch emergency responders and technicians for incidents.
Maintain communication with emergency service personnel.
Monitor equipment signaling facility emergencies and prioritize requests.
Initiate EOC procedures as required and provide communications support during emergencies.
Work a varied schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage of communications center.
Assist with operational aircraft communications and vehicle travel monitoring.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School diploma or GED
Incident Command System (ICS) 100 and 200 certifications required (training offered through FEMA)
2 years of emergency services dispatch experience
Valid emergency dispatcher certification from APCO, NENA, or state agency
Valid Driver’s License issued in the United States
Willingness to deploy to Antarctica
Successful completion of Medical and Dental examinations required by the NSF for deployment to Antarctica
Successful completion of drug screening and background check required by employer
Must be able to lift and move items up to safety regulation maximum
Must perform physical activities including heavy lifting and working outdoors in extreme cold.
